Wendell Berry – Bringing it to the Table: On Farming and Food
Farmers farm for the love of farming. They love to watch and nurture the growth of plants. They love to live in the presence of animals. They love to work outdoors. They love the weather, maybe even when it is making them miserable. They love to live where they work and to work where they live. If the scale of their farming is small enough, they like to work in the company of their children and with the help of their children. They love the measure of independence that farm life can still provide.

I Want to Talk With YOU!
I am in the process of working on a new project, and to that end I am looking for farms that would like to help me by spending about 15 to 20 minutes with me on the phone. I would like to ask you some questions regarding your struggles and accomplishments on your farm. Your answers will help me plan an online course for small farms designed at answering questions and providing practical information centered on specific farm related topics.
I am scheduling 5 to 7 calls with farms this week and would love to chat with you and give you a chance to share your thoughts. I won’t take more than 15 or 20 minutes of your time. I will be scheduling calls during the following days and times. All times are for Eastern Standard Time.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and am grateful for your insight!
Thank you to all of you who have responded to my call to action! All of my appointments have been filled! IF, however, you are a farm interested in starting some form of on-farm agritourism (farmstays, tours, workshops, farm dinners, etc.) then I would be interested in talking with you! Please email me if you fit this description!

I have been a dairy farmer for the better part of 40 years and am an entrepreneur who has started two businesses in Vermont designed to help traditional and smaller scale dairy farmers find better markets for their milk.

Before you call me, please check out our website http://www.bobwhitesystems.com and check out our videos, along with our Youtube Channel where you can watch a few more of our videos. If you do that you probably won’t have to take the time to call me. Good luck!

Great idea! Things to watch for: soul quality! Although the land we bought was part of an old horse pasture, the cover crop was bad and the parasite load worse. We lost several animals and had to give up on alpacas for now, until we get some good seasons of new pasture established. A friend about 10 miles from here in WNC had similar experience with other animals. Be sure to prepare yourself to reestablish proper for ages.
