Cutting Fabric |
Our Farmhouse Suite offers two bedrooms, one has a queen size bed and the other has two twin beds. This winter, I began a long process of redoing the bedding in our “Rooster Room”. It all began with a trip to the Anichini Store in Quechee, VT. The headquarters for Anichini, in Tunbridge, Vermont, is only a short distance from our farm, and it seemed fitting that I use their linens on our B&B beds. They offer a lovely line of hospitality bed linens, and on a visit to their store this fall, I purchased sheets and a coverlet.

Putting in the Zipper |
Once I had decided upon the bedding, I made a trip to our local fabric store to purchase fabric for pillow shams and decorative pillows. I love the warmth of the color red, and so decided to use a Waverly line of fabric in reds. After holiday activities subsided, I took advantage of the quiet, and began sewing new pillows for the room. Then, a I purchased a down comforter for those wanting a toasty night’s sleep. For the finishing touch, I added a rooster pillow from Chandler 4 Corner, a company offering wool rug hooked pillows and rugs designed by a local Vermont artist, Laura Megroz.
Last night, we had our first farmstay B&B guests since remodeling the room, they woke up with smiles on their faces!
