Gotland Holiday Sale For the past two weeks, our new flock of Gotland sheep have been making their way across country to our farm. Their journey began in Oregon. The journey of the Gotlands has been long and we will be so happy when they finally reach Grand View Farm! In celebration of their anticipated arrival, we are hosting a Gotbaa Holiday Sale! 2. Gotbaa-Gotland Sheep – $50

An amazing local Vermont fiber artist, Amy Felske, made “Gotbaas” for us using Gotland wool from Sweden. Now you too may have your very own Gotland sheep! Each Gotbaa stands approximately 6 inches tall by 7 inches long. (very limited quantities) A sweet gift for a sheep lover.

3. Gotta Love Gotlands Cotton Tote – $8

 

I hand stenciled these cotton totes with “Gotta love Gotlands” on the front and our farm logo on the back. The tote measures approximately 13 inches by 16 inches Perfect for your knitting project or to use as a shopping bag. Let everyone know, that you love Gotland sheep!

4. Gotland Sheep Yarn CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Share – Full Share $55 – Half Share $27

Purchase a Gotland Yarn CSA Share and help support our new flock of sheep through the winter months. After spring shearing, we will send our Gotland fiber to the mill to be spun into yarn. I am currently researching the best spinning specifications for our wool by talking with a mill in England that spins Gotland wool, and sharing that information with the small mill in the U.S. that we have been working with. Though I can not be sure of the exact weights just yet, I am hoping for a 3 or 4 ply DK or worsted weight yarn. A full share will give you four 50 gram skeins of yarn (approximately 460 yards) and a half share will give you two 50 gram skeins of yarn (approximately 230 yards). Pictured is a fleece sheared from one of our little Gotland ewes this fall. Just imagine yummy yarn spun with this fiber!!
